Tragedy in Bharatpur: Newlywed Teacher's Wife Ends Life After Allegations of Dowry Harassment

Bharatpur. A tragic incident has unfolded within the Mathura Gate police station area, where a 24-year-old woman was found dead by suicide late Tuesday night. The victim, identified as Sukirti Yadav, had been married for less than a year to Prashant Yadav, a government school teacher currently posted in Govindgarh. The discovery of her body has sent shockwaves through the local community, especially as the victim's family has leveled serious accusations of dowry harassment against her husband and mother-in-law.

The circumstances surrounding the death are currently under intense scrutiny by local authorities. Investigators recovered a handwritten note from the room where the incident occurred. In the note, the deceased expressed deep emotional distress, stating that a single suspicion had destroyed everything and that she no longer wished to live. While the note appears to absolve her husband of direct blame, the victim's father, Rakesh Kumar, has presented a starkly different narrative to the police.

According to the father's formal complaint, the marriage had been marred by persistent demands for a Scorpio vehicle. He alleged that his daughter was subjected to continuous mental and physical pressure by her husband, Prashant, and her mother-in-law, Shyamvati. Despite previous financial contributions made by the family to appease the in-laws, the demands reportedly continued, leading to the tragic outcome. The victim's sister, who is married to the husband's younger brother in the same household, discovered the body around midnight and raised an alarm.

The incident has brought to light the complex dynamics within the household, as both sisters were married into the same family. Following the discovery, the victim was rushed to RBM Hospital, where medical staff declared her dead upon arrival. The police have since moved the body to the mortuary for a post-mortem examination. Deputy Superintendent of Police Ashima Vaswani confirmed that an investigation is underway, with forensic experts examining the suicide note and the family's claims to determine the sequence of events leading to this heartbreaking loss.
