Independence Day Scandal in Tonk: Children's Prasad Allegedly Siphoned Off by Local Representative
Villagers in Radha Kishanpura are demanding action after a significant portion of sweets intended for school children on Independence Day went missing.

PIPLU, TONK. A disturbing incident has emerged from the village of Radha Kishanpura, located within the Bagdawa gram panchayat of Piplu tehsil, where a celebration of national pride was marred by allegations of corruption involving children's sweets. On August 15, 2026, the local administration had allocated ten kilograms of boondi to be distributed among students at the government primary school to mark Independence Day. However, when the distribution process commenced, the contents of the container were found to be drastically lower than the official allocation.
Witnesses present at the school reported that instead of the expected ten kilograms, the container held only two kilograms of sweets. This discrepancy sparked immediate outrage among the parents and local residents who had gathered to celebrate the occasion. The sudden reduction in the quantity of food intended for the students led to a heated confrontation between the villagers and the local representative tasked with handling the distribution.
When questioned about the missing eight kilograms of sweets, the ward member allegedly failed to provide a credible explanation and reportedly resorted to using abusive language toward the concerned villagers. The situation escalated further when the villagers, feeling insulted by the lack of accountability, returned the remaining portion to the panchayat office. Although the administrator later attempted to send the sweets back to the school, the ward member ultimately took the items to his private residence, further fueling the community's anger.
School principal Puran Bairwa, along with a group of residents including Ajay Gurjar, Nandram, Chotu, Panna Lal, Madan Lal, and Bhairu Gurjar, have formally registered a written complaint regarding the incident. The group has urged higher authorities to launch an investigation into the conduct of the local representatives involved. The complainants are demanding strict legal action against those responsible for misappropriating the children's share and for the subsequent verbal abuse directed at the community members who raised the issue.
