Chaksu protest ends as victims secure written assurance for deposit refunds

Chaksu, Rajasthan. The eight-day hunger strike in Chaksu, organized to demand the return of funds allegedly misappropriated by the Secoindicon organization, concluded successfully today. Former MLA Vedprakash Solanki, who spearheaded the protest, ended his fast following a formal intervention by senior political leadership. The movement had gained significant momentum as families sought the recovery of their life savings invested in the institution.

Congress leader and Tonk MLA Sachin Pilot arrived at the protest site to extend his support to the affected families. He commended the resilience shown by the demonstrators and personally offered juice to Mr. Solanki to break his fast. Mr. Pilot emphasized that the grievances of the victims are legitimate and assured them that their concerns would be raised at every necessary administrative level to ensure accountability.

Rikki Singh Hantra, General Secretary of the Rajasthan Pradesh Mahila Congress Committee, played a pivotal role in the protest, having participated in the indefinite hunger strike for the past four days. Her presence provided significant morale support to the women and families who had been struggling for years to reclaim their financial assets. She highlighted that the collective persistence of the victims was instrumental in drawing official attention to the crisis.

According to Ms. Hantra, the movement achieved a breakthrough when officials from the Cooperative Department provided a written commitment to complete a thorough investigation within 15 days. This assurance includes a promise to initiate the refund process for depositors shortly thereafter. She described the outcome as a major victory for the thousands of families who had invested their hard-earned money with the hope of securing their children's futures.

Reflecting on the resolution, organizers expressed gratitude toward the participants and social organizations that stood by the victims throughout the ordeal. While the immediate protest has ended, leaders have vowed to maintain vigilance under the guidance of Mr. Solanki. The focus now shifts to the 15-day window, with families hopeful that the administrative process will lead to the full recovery of their deposits as promised by the authorities.
