Deeg Police Intercept Two Men Carrying Illegal Firearms and Ammunition

Deeg, Rajasthan. In a significant crackdown on criminal activity, the Deeg police have successfully apprehended two individuals found in possession of illegal weapons. The operation, conducted under the guidance of District Superintendent of Police Sharan Gopinath K., is part of an ongoing special campaign aimed at curbing crime and capturing wanted offenders across the district.

The incident occurred on October 5, 2026, when a police team led by Assistant Sub-Inspector Bhim Singh was patrolling the area. Acting on a credible tip-off regarding two suspicious men on a motorcycle traveling from Bandha Chauth, the officers moved to intercept the suspects near the Adhawali intersection. Upon noticing the police presence, the individuals attempted to flee on foot but were quickly surrounded and detained by the alert officers.

The suspects have been identified as 23-year-old Gaurav and 23-year-old Hemraj, both residents of Bandha Khalsa village. During a thorough search, the police recovered a substantial cache of weapons. Gaurav was found carrying two illegal country-made firearms and six live cartridges, along with an empty casing. Hemraj was also found in possession of an illegal country-made pistol. The motorcycle used by the pair, a Hero Honda with registration number RJ 05 SF 6071, was also seized as evidence.

Following the arrests, the suspects were unable to produce any valid documentation or licenses for the weapons. Consequently, the authorities have registered a case under the Arms Act at the Khoh police station. Investigators are currently interrogating the men to determine the origin of the weapons and to uncover any potential criminal plots the pair may have been planning to execute. The police remain committed to maintaining public safety through these proactive patrols and intelligence-led operations.
