Police Raid Hotel Near Hammir Circle, Four Arrested with Over Two Lakh Rupees

Sawai Madhopur. In a significant crackdown on illegal activities operating under the guise of hospitality, local law enforcement officials executed a targeted raid at a hotel situated near the prominent Hammir Circle. Acting on credible intelligence regarding a high-stakes gambling operation, the Kotwali police station team moved swiftly to dismantle the illicit setup that had been functioning within the premises.

Upon entering the hotel, officers caught four individuals red-handed while they were deeply engrossed in a card game involving substantial sums of money. The operation resulted in the immediate arrest of the suspects, who were identified as Nadeem, a resident of Hammal Mohalla, Mahesh Meena from Meena Colony, Ramlal Meena hailing from Inayati in Sapotra, and Devisahay Meena from Khohra Nandsingh in Dausa. The swiftness of the police action left the participants with little opportunity to evade capture or dispose of the evidence.

During the subsequent search of the area, authorities recovered a total of 2,56,020 rupees in cash, which was being used for betting purposes. In addition to the currency, the police confiscated various gambling implements and decks of cards found at the scene. These items have been formally seized and documented as evidence for the ongoing legal proceedings.

The operation was carried out under the strategic guidance of Superintendent of Police Jyestha Maitreyi, with close supervision provided by Additional Superintendent of Police Rakesh Rajoura and Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajendra Meena. The team, led by Station House Officer Mange Lal, successfully executed the raid following a tip-off from a reliable informant. A formal case has been registered against the four accused under the relevant sections of the Gambling Act at the Kotwali police station.

Investigators are now working to determine the duration for which this illegal gambling den had been operating within the hotel. Authorities are also probing whether other individuals were involved in facilitating these activities or if there are further connections to be uncovered. The police remain committed to maintaining public order and curbing such unlawful practices in the city.
