Elderly Woman Targeted in Brazen Daylight Robbery in Sawai Madhopur

Sawai Madhopur. A shocking incident of violence against an elderly resident has emerged from Sherpur village, located within the Kundera police station jurisdiction. Mathura Devi, a 75-year-old woman, was alone at her residence when unidentified intruders forced their way inside with the intent to commit robbery. The perpetrators specifically targeted the heavy silver anklets worn by the victim, resorting to physical assault to facilitate their crime.

The assailants successfully removed one silver anklet from the victim's leg using a sharp cutting tool. During the process, the elderly woman sustained significant injuries, leaving her in a bloodied state. Despite the intense pain and the trauma of the home invasion, she displayed remarkable courage and began shouting for help as the attackers attempted to remove the second piece of jewelry from her other leg.

The victim's cries for assistance alerted nearby villagers, who immediately rushed toward the house. Sensing the approaching crowd, the suspects abandoned their efforts, leaving the second anklet partially cut, and fled the scene. The timely intervention of the neighbors prevented further harm to the victim and ensured the suspects could not complete their intended theft.

Following the ordeal, family members and local residents transported Mathura Devi to the Sawai Madhopur District Hospital. Medical staff are currently treating the deep wounds inflicted during the struggle. Local law enforcement officials arrived at the hospital shortly after the incident to record the victim's statement and gather initial details regarding the suspects.

Kundera Station House Officer Dilip Kumar confirmed that a formal case has been registered based on the victim's complaint. Police teams have conducted a thorough inspection of the crime scene to collect forensic evidence. Authorities have initiated a blockade in the surrounding areas and are actively questioning individuals to track the movements of the perpetrators. Special police units have been deployed to identify and apprehend the suspects, while local residents have expressed significant outrage, demanding swift justice and enhanced security measures for the elderly in the region.
