Congress to Stage Massive Protest in Sawai Madhopur Over Election Commission Concerns

Sawai Madhopur. The Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee has announced a significant protest demonstration scheduled for Tuesday, September 29, at the Sawai Madhopur district headquarters. Under the directives of state party president Govind Singh Dotasra, the local unit aims to voice strong opposition regarding the current leadership of the Election Commission of India. Led by District Congress Committee President and Bamangwas MLA Indira Meena, the party will formally register its dissent against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, citing serious concerns regarding the integrity of the electoral process.

The day of action will commence at 11:00 AM at Mahaveer Park in the Bajariya area, where party officials, representatives from various frontal organizations, and local workers are expected to gather in large numbers. Following an initial assembly, the participants will embark on a protest march, traversing through the Ambedkar Circle before reaching the district collectorate. This demonstration serves as a platform for the party to highlight its grievances regarding alleged vote manipulation and the perceived lack of impartiality in recent electoral procedures.

Upon reaching the collectorate, the demonstrators plan to conduct a symbolic protest by burning an effigy of the Chief Election Commissioner. The event will conclude with the submission of a formal memorandum addressed to the President of India and the Governor of Rajasthan, which will be handed over to the District Collector. Through this democratic exercise, the party intends to draw national attention to the issues affecting voter rights and the transparency of the democratic machinery in the region.

Beyond the protest, the gathering will also serve as a strategic session for the upcoming Panchayati Raj elections. The party has decided to utilize the presence of its cadre to initiate the candidate selection process. Aspirants seeking the party's support for positions such as Zila Parishad members, Pradhans, Sarpanchs, and Ward Panchs are invited to submit their formal applications at the protest venue. Indira Meena has urged all interested candidates to ensure they arrive at Mahaveer Park with their complete documentation during the scheduled timeframe.

The District Congress Committee has issued a widespread call to all block and mandal presidents, as well as members of the Youth Congress, Mahila Congress, Seva Dal, and NSUI, to ensure a robust turnout. Party leaders emphasized that this mobilization is essential to uphold the sanctity of the electoral process and to protect the fundamental rights of voters. By combining political agitation with organizational preparation, the Congress party aims to demonstrate its readiness for both the upcoming local polls and its broader national agenda.
