Sapotra police nab two suspects in Sawai Madhopur following brutal highway assault

Sapotra. Local law enforcement officials in Sapotra have successfully apprehended two suspects involved in a vicious assault on a motorcyclist that occurred late Saturday evening. The incident, which took place on the Bairunda-Jakhoda road, left 39-year-old Rooplal Bairwa with severe injuries to his head, nose, and ears. Following the attack, the victim was initially rushed to the Sapotra sub-district hospital before being transferred to Jaipur for advanced medical care, where he remains under treatment.

According to police reports, the victim, a resident of Raiti ki Jhopdi, was traveling home on his motorcycle when he encountered the occupants of a Bolero vehicle. A verbal altercation reportedly escalated rapidly, leading the suspects, identified as Mansingh Rajput and Sonu alias Shivkesh Meena, to allegedly attack Bairwa with sharp weapons. The assailants abandoned the injured man on the roadside and fled the scene in their vehicle.

Passersby alerted the authorities, prompting Assistant Sub-Inspector Bijendra Singh and his team to arrive at the location and facilitate emergency medical transport. Deputy Superintendent of Police Daulatram also visited the hospital to coordinate with the victim's family, who provided a formal complaint naming the suspects. This immediate reporting allowed investigators to launch a targeted search operation.

Station House Officer Abhijit Kumar confirmed that the investigation led police to Sawai Madhopur, where both suspects were taken into custody around 3:00 PM today. During the operation, officers also successfully recovered the Bolero vehicle believed to have been used during the commission of the crime. The police are currently conducting a thorough investigation to determine the exact motive behind the dispute and to locate the weapons used in the attack.

While the suspects are now in custody, the department continues to gather evidence to ensure a robust case. The swift response by the Sapotra police has been noted as a critical factor in preventing the suspects from evading capture for a longer duration.
