Police Seize Overloaded Sand Truck in Malarna Dungar as Driver Flees

Sawai Madhopur. In a significant crackdown on illegal mining activities, the Malarna Dungar police station successfully intercepted a heavy-duty vehicle involved in the unauthorized transportation of river sand. The operation, conducted as part of a broader district-wide initiative to curb illicit mineral movement, resulted in the seizure of a sixteen-wheeled truck found to be heavily overloaded with sand sourced from the Banas riverbed.

The incident occurred during an area domination patrol near the Bahted Idgah locality. When police officers attempted to inspect the vehicle, the driver initially tried to evade capture by speeding away. However, the responding team managed to surround the truck and bring it to a halt. Upon inspection, it was discovered that the vehicle lacked the necessary royalty receipts and valid transit permits required for the legal movement of such materials.

Taking advantage of the darkness and the confusion during the interception, the driver abandoned the vehicle and managed to escape the scene. Law enforcement officials have since registered a formal case at the Malarna Dungar police station under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Mines and Minerals Development and Regulation Act. The seized truck has been impounded and moved to the station premises for further investigation.

This enforcement action was carried out under the direct supervision of Superintendent of Police Jyeshtha Maitreyi, who has been spearheading a rigorous campaign against illegal mining across the district. The operation was executed by a team led by Station House Officer Mangelal, supported by Assistant Sub-Inspector Ramveer Singh and other personnel who were patrolling the area to ensure law and order.

Authorities are currently conducting an intensive search for both the absconding driver and the registered owner of the truck. Police officials have reiterated that the ongoing special campaign against illegal sand mining and unauthorized transportation will continue with heightened vigilance across the region to ensure strict compliance with environmental and mining regulations.
