In a significant move to curb criminal activities and the proliferation of illegal weaponry, local law enforcement in Deeg has successfully apprehended a young man carrying an unauthorized firearm. The operation was conducted under the banner of Operation Shastra Vinash, a specialized initiative spearheaded by District Superintendent of Police Sharan Gopinath to maintain public safety and order across the region.

Acting on credible intelligence received on the evening of September 26, a combined team comprising officers from the Pahari police station and the District Special Team moved swiftly to the Bhojka-Bhauri road. The authorities had been alerted to the presence of an individual loitering near the canal embankment with a weapon. Upon arrival, the police established a perimeter and successfully detained the suspect before he could evade capture.

The individual was identified as 20-year-old Javed, a resident of Bhauri village within the Pahari police station jurisdiction. During a thorough search of his person, officers discovered a .315 bore country-made pistol. The weapon was immediately seized as evidence, and the suspect was taken into custody for further questioning regarding the origin of the firearm and his potential involvement in broader criminal networks.

Following the arrest, a formal case was registered against the accused at the Pahari police station under the provisions of the Arms Act. Investigators are currently interrogating the suspect to determine if he has links to other illegal arms dealers or if the weapon was intended for specific criminal activities. This arrest marks another step in the ongoing efforts by the Deeg police to dismantle local supply chains for illicit weapons.

The successful operation involved a coordinated effort from several dedicated officers. The Pahari police team included Inspector Yogendra Singh, Sub-Inspector Tikam Singh, and constables Krishna, Kanwar Singh, Mukesh, and Vikas Yadav.
