Police Seize 37 Stolen Smartphones in Malarna Dungar Operation

Sawai Madhopur. In a significant breakthrough under the ongoing area domination campaign, the Malarna Dungar police station has successfully apprehended a notorious individual involved in a large-scale mobile theft operation. The suspect, identified as Sajid Khan, locally known as Sajid Tuta, was taken into custody after being intercepted with a substantial cache of stolen electronic devices. Authorities recovered 37 high-end Android smartphones from his possession, with an estimated market valuation of approximately seven lakh rupees.

The operation was initiated following persistent reports regarding the illegal trade of stolen mobile phones in the Falsawata village vicinity. Law enforcement officials maintained strict surveillance on suspicious activities in the region. Acting on a tip-off regarding a potential transaction, a police team established a blockade on Karel Road, where the suspect was spotted attempting to offload the stolen inventory. Upon being confronted, the individual failed to provide any legitimate documentation or proof of ownership for the recovered devices.

Preliminary investigations have revealed a more sinister layer to these thefts. Beyond the physical loss of the devices, the suspect is accused of exploiting the digital payment applications installed on the stolen phones. Investigators claim that the accused manipulated security pins for platforms such as PhonePe, Google Pay, and Paytm to siphon funds directly from the victims' linked bank accounts. This discovery has prompted the police to broaden the scope of their inquiry into the digital security breaches associated with these thefts.

Police records indicate that the accused has a history of criminal involvement, with multiple prior cases of theft and burglary registered against him. Following his arrest, a formal case has been filed under sections 303(2) and 317(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at the local police station. Authorities are currently interrogating the suspect to identify potential accomplices and dismantle the wider network involved in the illicit trade of stolen hardware. Officials remain optimistic that further recoveries will be made as the investigation progresses.
