Silent Voices Shine Bright: Karoli School Celebrates Sign Language Day with Talent and New Beginnings

Karoli. The Nishabd Vidyalaya in Karoli transformed into a vibrant stage for talent and inclusion as students celebrated World Sign Language Day alongside the school's annual admission festival. The event served as a platform for differently-abled students to express themselves through captivating cultural performances, leaving the audience deeply moved by their dedication and skill.

The proceedings commenced with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony led by Superintendent of Police Lokesh Sonwal and Swami Pravir Dev of Patanjali Yogpeeth. During the welcome ceremony, new students were greeted with traditional tilak and garlands, marking their entry into the academic community. Coordinator Satyen Chaturvedi outlined the institution's ongoing mission to empower students, while instructor Vinod Jatav provided an introduction to the event using sign language.

Superintendent Lokesh Sonwal praised the hidden potential of the students, emphasizing the importance of providing them with the right training and platforms to flourish. He further announced that the district police would soon organize self-defense training sessions specifically for the female students at the school. Cyber Deputy Superintendent Kusum also commended the students for their remarkable discipline throughout the program.

A significant portion of the event was dedicated to celebrating the achievements of alumni. Former student Vijay Meena was honored for securing a government position, while twelve other alumni who completed housekeeping training in Kaila Devi were recognized with shawls. The celebration concluded with a fruit distribution drive sponsored by Bhamashah Dharmendra Jadoun in honor of the birthday of royal family head Krishna Chandra Pal.

The event was facilitated by a dedicated team, including translator Bhavna Sonwal and stage moderator Anuj Pratap Singh. The school staff, including Principal Ravindra Purohit and Vice-Principal Shriram Sharma, joined numerous community members and former students to support the occasion. The program concluded with a vote of thanks from Satyen Chaturvedi, acknowledging the collective effort required to foster such an inclusive environment for the students.
