Deadly Betrayal: Financial Dispute Leads to Brutal Murder of Youth in Karauli

Karauli. Local authorities in Karauli have successfully apprehended two individuals in connection with the tragic death of 26-year-old Mohan Singh, also known as Sittu Meena. The victim, a resident of Sarsaina village within the Todabhim police jurisdiction, was allegedly murdered following a long-standing financial disagreement and personal animosity with the primary suspect, Shailendra, alias Kabir Meena.

According to investigators, the conflict originated from a loan of 6,000 rupees that the victim had provided to the suspect. Mohan Singh had been demanding the return of the principal amount along with interest, totaling 12,000 rupees. Tensions escalated when the suspect began fearing that the victim might report him to law enforcement, prompting a lethal plan to eliminate him.

The conspiracy was reportedly hatched on the night of September 17 at a beer bar in Mahwa, where the suspects gathered to consume alcohol. The group, including Shailendra, Mayank Jatav, Arjun Meena, and Gaurav, alias Tonya Meena, traveled in a black Scorpio vehicle. To lure the victim out of his home, they contacted him under the guise of meeting a woman for a social gathering.

Upon arriving at his residence, the group forcibly took Mohan Singh to a remote hilly area behind a government college in Todabhim. After isolating him, the suspects launched a violent assault using sticks and blunt objects. Despite the victim's attempts to survive, he succumbed to his injuries at the scene. His body was discovered the following morning, leading to a swift police investigation.

The Todabhim police, acting under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Lokesh Sonwal, utilized technical evidence and informant networks to track the perpetrators. While Mayank Jatav and Shailendra Meena are now in custody, authorities continue to search for the remaining two suspects. A reward of 10,000 rupees has been announced for information leading to the arrest of each of the absconding individuals.
