Sawai Madhopur. The Sawai Madhopur district police have achieved a significant breakthrough in their ongoing efforts to retrieve lost and stolen electronic devices. Under the strategic guidance of District Superintendent of Police Jyestha Maitreyi, IPS, specialized teams from the district cyber cell and various local police stations conducted a rigorous three-month operation to locate missing smartphones. Through persistent technical surveillance and coordinated field efforts, authorities successfully recovered 207 Android and high-end mobile devices, with an estimated market value of approximately Rs 35 lakh.

The investigation relied heavily on advanced digital tracking methods. Over the past quarter, the cyber cell meticulously analyzed data from the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal and official Rajasthan Police databases. By monitoring the network activity of devices reported as missing, investigators were able to pinpoint the locations of the handsets. This systematic approach allowed the police to bypass traditional hurdles and efficiently trace devices that had been missing for extended periods.

The role of the CEIR portal proved to be a game-changer in this recovery mission. Once a device is registered on the portal, it becomes significantly easier for law enforcement to track its movement if it is activated on any network. Following the successful recovery, the police completed the necessary legal verification processes to confirm ownership before returning the handsets to their respective owners. The return of these devices brought visible relief to the citizens, many of whom had lost hope of ever retrieving their property.

In recognition of the team's dedication, the Superintendent of Police has announced that officers and staff who demonstrated exceptional performance during this operation will be formally rewarded.
