The situation escalated when local police prevented Bharatiya Janata Party officials from entering the council building, triggering a sharp confrontation between the party's election in-charge, Madan Prajapat, and the City Circle Officer, Rajendra Meena. The dispute intensified rapidly, resulting in a physical altercation where the election official allegedly pushed the police officer amidst the heated exchange.

The confrontation began when party representatives were denied access to the nomination area, prompting an aggressive response from the BJP leadership. Madan Prajapat demanded the presence of the Sub-Divisional Magistrate, questioning the authority of the police to restrict his entry while asserting his role as the designated election in-charge. Despite the efforts of security personnel to maintain order, a group of party workers and leaders eventually forced their way into the premises, citing direct communication with state leadership to justify their actions.

This political friction follows the recent victory of BJP candidate Mewa Chaudhary, who secured the position of municipal chairman on Monday. The nomination process for the deputy chairman commenced at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, setting the stage for a competitive contest between the BJP and Congress. Following the scrutiny of nomination papers, the voting process is scheduled to take place between 2:30 PM and 5:00 PM, with the final results expected to be declared immediately after the conclusion of the count.

The broader political landscape in the district remains highly charged, as the six municipal bodies recently concluded their leadership elections. The BJP currently holds a significant advantage, having secured the chairman or president seats in four out of the six local bodies, including Sawai Madhopur, Khandar, Bonli, and Wazirpur.
