Nighttime Highway Collision Claims Life of Dholpur Resident Near Rupwas
A tragic road accident on the Dholpur-Bharatpur highway has left one man dead and another critically injured after an unidentified vehicle struck their motorcycle.

RUPWAS. A fatal road accident occurred late Saturday night on the Dholpur-Bharatpur highway, resulting in the death of one individual and leaving another in critical condition. The incident took place within the jurisdiction of the Rupwas police station, where an unidentified vehicle collided with a motorcycle and fled the scene under the cover of darkness.
The victims have been identified as Mahendra and Chimman, both residents of Moripura village in Dholpur district. The pair was traveling toward Bharatpur when the collision occurred. The force of the impact threw both men into nearby roadside bushes, while their motorcycle remained abandoned on the highway.
The tragedy came to light during routine night patrols conducted by local police teams. Officers noticed the motorcycle lying on the road and initiated a search of the surrounding area, eventually discovering the two men in the bushes. Both victims were immediately rushed to the Rupwas hospital for emergency medical attention.
Medical staff at the facility declared Chimman dead upon arrival. Mahendra, who sustained severe injuries, received initial stabilization before being referred to a higher medical center for advanced treatment. His condition remains critical as of the latest reports.
Following the identification of the victims, local authorities contacted their families to inform them of the incident. Relatives of the deceased arrived in Rupwas on Sunday morning to facilitate the post-mortem examination. Meanwhile, the police have launched an investigation to identify the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run. Efforts are currently underway to track the driver, who managed to escape the scene immediately following the collision.
