Green Initiative Takes Root at Karauli Hostel on Guru Purnima

Karauli. In a significant push for environmental conservation, the Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Development Institute in Karauli hosted a large-scale tree plantation event on Monday. The drive was organized to coincide with the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima while actively contributing to the state government's ongoing Hariyalo Rajasthan initiative.

The program was led by the institute's president, Prem Singh Mali, who emphasized the critical importance of protecting the environment in the current era. During the event, he urged citizens to embrace a love for nature and take personal responsibility for planting trees, while also encouraging others in their communities to participate in similar green efforts.

A diverse range of saplings, including jamun, guava, jackfruit, kadam, semal, amaltas, date palm, curry leaf, harsingar, khejri, and amla, were planted across the hostel premises. To ensure the long-term survival and monitoring of these new additions to the local ecosystem, each sapling was geo-tagged by the participants.

The initiative saw active participation from various community members and local leaders. Gopal Lal Mali, an active member of the institute, noted that the drive successfully planted over half a dozen varieties of trees. The event was attended by several notable figures, including institute secretary Ramgopal Mali, employee union president Ramkhiladi Mali, and branch manager of Union Bank, Kamarpal Mali, along with other local residents and supporters.

This collective effort serves as a reminder of the role local institutions play in fostering ecological awareness. By integrating traditional celebrations with sustainable practices, the organizers hope to inspire a lasting culture of tree planting and environmental stewardship throughout the region.
