Rajasthan Agriculture Department Partners with TAFE JFarm Services to Boost Farm Mechanization

In a significant move to modernize farming practices across Rajasthan, the state Agriculture Department has entered into a strategic partnership with TAFE JFarm Services. The agreement, formalized at the Pant Krishi Bhawan, aims to bridge the technological gap for small and marginal farmers by facilitating easy access to high-end agricultural equipment.

The core of this collaboration involves integrating the JFarm Services digital platform with the Raj Kisan Sathi portal. This integration will allow farmers to rent tractors and other essential implements without incurring additional service fees. The initiative covers the entire agricultural cycle, from land preparation and sowing to harvesting and post-harvest operations.

Principal Secretary of Agriculture and Horticulture, Manju Rajpal, emphasized that the government envisions establishing Custom Hiring Centers (CHCs) at every Gram Panchayat level. These centers, operated by cooperatives, Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), or individual entrepreneurs, will ensure that expensive machinery is available to those who cannot afford to purchase it outright. By reducing operational costs, the initiative aims to increase overall farm productivity and income.

Beyond equipment rental, the partnership focuses on capacity building. Plans include organizing training programs, farmer workshops, and knowledge-sharing sessions for rural youth, students, and women-led self-help groups. Commissioner of Agriculture, Naresh Kumar Goyal, noted that this digital ecosystem will provide a sustainable boost to the state's agricultural development.

This agreement follows a series of MoUs signed on July 10 with 32 organizations, including NIAM and various agritech startups. These collective efforts are designed to promote natural farming, climate-resilient practices, and agricultural innovation, ensuring that the benefits of modern technology reach the most remote corners of the state.
