International Arms and Narcotics Haul: Five Arrested in Major Bust

Chandigarh. Law enforcement officials have successfully dismantled a suspected smuggling network, resulting in the seizure of a substantial quantity of narcotics and a sophisticated collection of illegal weaponry. The operation led to the detention of five suspects, a group that notably includes a woman and a juvenile, highlighting the complex nature of the criminal enterprise under investigation.

During the search, officers recovered 6.3 kilograms of heroin, a discovery that points to a significant distribution network. Alongside the narcotics, the team confiscated nine high-grade pistols, many of which are of international origin. The arsenal included three .30-bore Zigana pistols and one 9MM Zigana model, all manufactured in Turkey. Further inspection of the seized items revealed three Chinese-made .30-bore firearms, a 9MM Glock produced in Austria, and a 9MM Beretta originating from Italy.

The involvement of diverse international brands suggests a well-funded supply chain capable of sourcing high-end weaponry from across the globe. Investigators are currently working to determine the intended destination of the contraband and the specific roles played by each of the five individuals taken into custody.

Authorities have initiated a rigorous interrogation process to trace the origins of the weapons and the heroin.
